

Not as fast as Octane if you're using Direct Lighting with no SSS or fog. Their customer service is excellent.ĭislikes: Higher learning curve than Octane, (if you're coming from the standard renderer, if you're coming from Arnold or Vray, should be cake). If you're doing fog and SSS it's much faster than Octane. Atmosphere and fog is the easiest thing I've ever done. Interior scenes look way better than Octane. It has a very familiar look and feel as Arnold or VRay. Likes: It feels more like your standard render engine.

There's no hard date that I've heard of for release, but I have a feeling it's going to be soon. Much faster than CPU rendering, unless you've invested heavily in CPU rendering. What I would say, is it really depends on what your main focus is and what render engine you're currently coming from. I've been on the Redshift beta for a few months, and have used Octane for the past three years.
